MigratePro Licensing

MigratePro can be configured to run on Windows Server or PC Operating Systems. MigratePro's licensing is determined by the type of Windows Operating System your are migrating to and from.

Server-to-Server Migration Example: In the Server-to-Server Migration example, share settings and data are being migrated from Server 1 to Server 2. The licensing required in this example is 2 MigratePro Server Licenses.

Installation Tip: We recommend installing MigratePro on your new hardware (the destination server). This will allow you to pull from your source machine or in the case of consolidation, source machines.

Server Consolidation Note: If you are seeking to consolidate multiple servers to a single server, you can determine your license requirement by simply counting the total number of servers involved in your consolidation project. For example, if your consolidating 3 servers to 1 server, you would need a total of 4 MigratePro Server Licenses.

Migrating Shares on PC's? Not a problem. MigratePro's licensing is the same for PC's, however instead of server licenses you would need to purchase MigratePro Workstation Licenses. For example, if you're migrating a share from an Windows XP machine to a Windows Vista machine, you would need 2 MigratePro Workstation Licenses.
